This elegant coffee mug with dangling monkeys is part of the Sharing Moments collection by Janny van der Heijden. Janny is best known for her role as a presenter on the TV program Heel Holland Bakt; this culinary journalist knows better than anyone what you need to serve delicious dishes and set a good table. That is why the design of her Sharing Moments tableware is just as important as the functionality. A teapot must be able to pour well without spilling and a coffee mug or teacup must fit well in the hand. The previously released Sharing Moments service has now been expanded with the Monkeys collection, in which these cheerful primates are central. “Aperij is playing ridiculous pranks and imitating human behaviour”, says Janny about her new crockery. “The playful monkeys on the new service for Heinen Delfts Blauw bring a smile to everyone's face. This genre of monkeys in satirical situations was a popular theme 400 years ago and we like to bring these light-hearted pranksters back to the table. In addition to being a symbol of absurdity, monkeys in Asia have been depicted on porcelain for centuries to depict wisdom and longevity.” The porcelain coffee mug has a traditional Delft blue rim at the bottom, but the rim is decorated with slender branches and dangling monkeys. The Sharing Moments service consists of the Tulip and Monkeys collections and was released through the fun collaboration between Janny van der Heijden and Heinen Delfts Blauw.
