Carnival is originally a folk festival. It is celebrated within the Christian tradition on the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday immediately preceding Lent of 40 days. In the Netherlands it is originally only celebrated by Catholics, mainly in the south and parts of the east of the country. Carnival is the festival of folly, ridicule and exuberance. So that you can still be 'crazy' before the fast starts. Carnival is now opened in many places in the Netherlands on Carnival Friday and a parade takes place on Saturday. Carnival ends on Ash Wednesday, but traditions vary by region. Carnival is a celebration of three or four days. In the past, people were not allowed to just party on the street, so they dressed up and wore masks so as not to be recognized.

Are you going to celebrate carnival soon or do you have another costume party, but you have no idea what to wear? Then look no further! We have different costumes for both young and old.

For the little ones we have different pete suits and a pete wig. Can your little one dance well like Dans Piet, does he/she want to look just as much as Cool Piet or would he/she like to be another Pietje? Then quickly shop our Dress Up Costumes Piet on our website. In this way, your little one will be transformed into a nice pet in no time, which can be dressed up nicely to school or to the Sinterklaas arrival.

We don't just have fancy dress outfits for the little ones, but also for the elderly. We have suitable outfits for different theme parties. For example, choose a Hawaiian skirt for your Hawaii-themed party; Holland jacket, for a Dutch evening; Alpen maid or Lederhose Johan, for the Oktoberfest. Which one is your favourite?
